The Event Management Association of Sri Lanka celebrated International Women’s Day, to honor the vital contributions of women within the professional events industry with an elegant High Tea at the Ahasa, ITC Ratnadipa, yesterday.
The afternoon served as a dedicated tribute to the strength, creativity, and leadership of women who drive the industry forward. The event brought together members for an afternoon of networking, celebration, and insightful discourse.
The formal proceedings featured a powerful keynote address by Vice President Mr. Bathiya Jayakody, who spoke extensively on women’s empowerment and the evolving role of female leadership in the modern business landscape. His address highlighted the EMA’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where women can thrive as decision-makers and innovators.
Closing the formal segment on a lighter note, Secretary Mr. Uzmaan Ghouse delivered a witty and informal speech that resonated with the audience, bridging the gap between professional recognition and the camaraderie that defines the association.
The event concluded with an exciting raffle draw, adding an element of suspense to the festivities. A lucky female participant walked away with the grand prize: a luxury F&B voucher at the ITC Ratnadipa, the venue for the evening’s celebrations.
